Privacy policy

Last updated 14 July 2026

This explains what we do with your personal data when you join the Jared early-access list at getjared.dev. We collect as little as we can, and we keep it plain.

Before this goes public, fill the bracketed details below: [legal entity name], [registered address], and your [ICO registration number] if you're registered with the ICO. Contact email is set to jason@cognitivedelivery.co.uk.

1. Who we are

Jared is a product of [legal entity name], which is the data controller for your information. You can reach us at jason@cognitivedelivery.co.uk. Registered address: [registered address]. ICO registration: [ICO registration number].

2. What we collect

We do not ask for your name or anything else.

3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your email address for one purpose: to contact you about Jared early access and launch. Our lawful basis under UK GDPR is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you give when you submit the form. Under PECR, we only send you the early-access emails you asked for, and nothing else.

4. Where it's kept

Your data is processed on Google Cloud, which acts as our data processor under its data-processing terms. Our servers run in the European Economic Area (Belgium). Some Google infrastructure that supports the service may handle limited data, such as system logs, in other regions; where data is handled outside the UK it is protected by the safeguards UK GDPR requires, including adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses. We do not move your data anywhere else, and we never sell or rent it.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your email until Jared launches or until you ask us to remove it, whichever comes first. After that we delete it.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers who help us run the list (currently Google Cloud).

7. Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or trackers. There is nothing to consent to.

8. Your rights

App accounts (private beta)

If you join the beta and create an account at app.getjared.dev we also hold: your email address, a passkey public key (never a password), and the content you put into your account: your profile, projects, journal entries, work items, discussions, decisions and calendar holds. This content is yours; we use it only to run the product for you. Raw work payloads such as code, diffs and commands stay on your machines by design; the service refuses them. We do not take payment details during the beta. Delete your account and its data by emailing us.

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send you a copy. You can withdraw your consent at any time. To do any of these, email jason@cognitivedelivery.co.uk and we will act within one month.

9. Unsubscribing

Every email we send you includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also email us and we will remove you straight away.

10. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

11. Changes

If we change this notice we will update the date at the top, and tell the people on the list if the change is significant.
